The First Tree Pictures

These are a few pictures taken from the primitive bedroom, or at least it is primitive until Christmas. The tree below is decorated with vintage red Shiny Bright ornaments with a couple of elves and Santa's from the 1950's
This is my favorite Santa, he's probably about my age; I remember that it seemed that everyone had one like him when I was a small child.

For some reason blogger just isn't working for me tonight. It's taking forever to get this post like I want it; but anyway this larger tree shows my love for nature. It has pinecones, birds, and  flowers. I fell in love with red and green decorating a few years ago but I really love a lot of glittery Christmas decorations as you will see in the next few days; that is if Blogger lets me post the pictures.

Have a warm cozy evening.

Internet Is Back

Finally I have a wireless connection that is moving along like a charm. It is so good to be back online.
I found the new background at Cute and Cool Blog Stuff. I can't wait to get back into blogging and crafting again. These are some pictures I took at Christmas about 5 years back.
Molly and Orpheus are watching for Santa here. The brats can make decorating difficult at times but they are family; when my daughters tell me I spoil them too much I explain that they are my fictional children. I can spoil them and shelter them to my hearts desire because they will be my babies always; I don't have to prepare them to go out alone in the wide, wild world on their own. I'll be back tomorrow with picures of this years decorating. Enjoy the season my friends.

OLM's Special Meanings of the Seasons

Goodmorning everyone; just popped in between decorating to remind you that there is a great give a way over at Primitives  By Old Lady Morgan. Be sure to stop in and see the precious doll she's giving away and enjoy her fabulious blog; you can find her here  http://primitivesbyoldeladymorgan.blogspot.com/.

I'm happy to talk about the many special reasons for the season but there is one that is very special to me.

Now I love the decorating, the gathering of friends and family, the shopping and the sharing of a special

meal with the ones you love.

But as I was taking my walk through the Aurelian Wood on Wednesday it occured to me that there was a very special meaning that I don't often talk about. The tree above is a miracle of nature; fallen years ago by a storm it held tight to the nurturing breast of the earth and three tiny branches burst through and now the one tree is three tall strong trees reaching ever upward toward the heavens.

There was a quiet and stillness in the forest; a silence that I could feel in every part  of my being. No glitter, no bells, just now and then the tinkling of a fairy bell and the faint glimmer of a passing sprite. The earth herself was calmly waiting in reverence for the miracle of Christmas; the spirit of nature transformed to a mysterious half slumber awaiting the promise of rebirth and life enternal that began on this very holy day.

December

It's hard to believe that a year has passed so quickly. These are some pictures from last year. Tomorrow I will start decorating the trees for this year. It is quiet and calm here in the country; but now and then I miss the busy city sounds.  I love the peace and beauty of the country, we had a most enchanting autumn here.

I do miss the visits of neighbors that I'd known from childhood. One wonders why a neighborhood becomes fragile and even dangerous as the years pass. As much as I love it here there is a great part of that old neighborhood that I will miss forever.

It appears that I will have some time off work now for a month or two and hopefully I can get back to blogging. Internet service is hit and miss out here but now that I have time I will be posting often and getting to browse all of my favorite blogs in the wonderful neighborhood of blogland.

Bright Blessings
