Oh My Gourd!

I hope everyone is having a great summer; it's been terribly hot, humid, and we need rain here.
This is a stash of gourds that I picked up at a garage sale last week, they were free and I can never pass up a gourd. I'm hoping for a cool afternoon to soak and clean these; can you tell I'm anxious for autumn to arrive?

I also picked up a pair of these rockers, I'm not sure if I will paint or stain them. They are in excellent condition and I sort of like the weathered look that they have now; maybe I can just put a clear coat on them.

Well summer is still here so I thought I'd add a picture of some of the linens that I collect. I love cool, white, vintage and antique linens. They add such a freshness and coolness to hot summer days.

I found these little pumpkin people at the same sale with the chairs and I just had to bring them home. I'm ready to start decorating for autumn and Halloween but I 've got to get into the craft room; I've lots of things to finish. The last few weeks I've barely gotten anything done between the high blood pressure problem and this heat so it's catch up time now and housework has to come first.

This little witch met me at the first sale that I went to, she was waiting for me I'm sure.

She's not the usual primitive style that I prefer but that little twinkle in her eye reminds me that I can forge ahead and be back on track in no time.

Blessings everyone.

  2. Lucky you, that you found those gourds for free. I've heard that you can sand them clean with a bit of sandpaper. I've never tried it but it might be worth a try.
The rocking chairs are a great find and so is that sweet little doll! Too cute.
    Blessings~ Birgit
