Family, Autumn, Antiques, Back Roads and Bliss

Last week was just an amazing time of spending days with my beautiful children and Grandchildren,

We spent as much time as we could exploring the roads less traveled and sharing our love of history, old houses and antiques. We visited two cemeteries that predate the revolution.   These are beautiful enchanted places in settings that offer a certain calmness of peace and tranquility. Old twisted tress bow gracefully over ancient stone markers that tie the past to the present in a way that is calm and natural.

We stopped again in Historic Halifax and were  delighted to happen up the filming of a TV show that will be aired in 2016; Legends and Lies. I must see this and it was so much fun to see the actors at the Old Eagle Tavern dressed in their eighteenth century best.

We strolled through the museum and it is very easy to imagine life all those many years ago.

We stopped for as much antiquing as we could, we never can get enough of shopping and browsing in antiques stores all across North Carolina and Virginia.

We fell in love with this old churn along with many other beautiful things. Lisa and I agreed that the best we could tell the booth below was move-in ready. We just fell in love with the stove and all of the wonderful kitchen items.

Everywhere we visited there was so much to see and share, we just couldn't have had a better week.

Tomorrow is Halloween so I must go and make sure that I have plenty of treats. It is a beautiful autumn day and I have already spent to much time outside. We will be adding more things to our Etsy shop over the weekend so please stop by for a visit. I will also be posting more pictures of our adventure in the next few days..

Have a wonderful weekend.
