Wonderful Day

We had a wonderful time in Historic Halifax.

We sat up early on Thursday and of course I had forgotten my camera in the rush of getting loaded and driving up to Weldon on Wednesday evening.
I should probably mention that it has been so so hot with temperatures in the upper 90's with the heat index being 100 +.  I had my phone which takes a pretty good picture but it took me some time to figure out how to get them from the phone to my blog.
There were lots of fantastic vendors in Halifax and we met so many nice people. The sales were good even in the heat and we also stayed for more of the filming of HGTV's Endless Yard Sale. The contestants and film crew were so nice and we really enjoyed getting to see how the show is shot.
They will be contacting us to let us know when the show will air and we are really looking forward to seeing it. We have our fingers crossed that the items that they purchased from us will appraise well for them.
We're back at home and already working on our autumn shows. The heat hasn't let up at all and after the terribly cold winter that we had I really shouldn't complain.  We had a great time but it's good to be home with the Fur Babies. Poor little Rocky refused to sleep from Wednesday till I arrived home on Friday afternoon. He just sat at the door and waited for me..Precious Baby!

Please stay cool and keep the Fur Babies cool. I'll be back soon.

Exciting News We Sold an Item to the Contestants of the Great American Country Endless Yard Sale

We had the most wonderful time in Historic Halifax for the 301 Endless Yard Sale.
It was the most enchanting setting and the employees of the Town of Halifax and the coordinator of the event were so friendly and helpful..
For some reason I am having a terrible time posting pictures today but I will be back with more pictures and all of the exciting details of the event. The weather was super hot and sticky but we had a great time and it was so exciting when the contestants and film crew from GAC's Endless Yard Sale came to our both and made a purchase.  I'll be back with all of the details. Thanks for stopping by and if its steamy and hot in your neck of the woods please stay cool and keep your furbabies cool.

                                                                                Blessed Be

Please BEE Friendly

The days are passing so quickly and I still have so much to do before we are off on Wednesday to set up in Historic Halifax for the 301 endless Yard Sale. I had to take a few minutes to update my blog and to mention that last year this time my flowers were visited all during the day by our sweet Honey Bees and Butterflies.

Once last week I saw four at one time and that was very exciting but quite heartbreaking as that is the most that I have seen on any given day.  My neighbors garden is suffering as are many others simply because there are no bees this year.

Bees feed us and we are killing them. Early in the spring I spoke to a lady that has allergies and  please don't misunderstand me I know that allergies can be deadly but this lady sprays her yard with very toxic pesticides because she doesn't like the outside (she might get sunburned) and she has Hay Fever.. I found that it is normal for her friends and family to do this all summer long including multiple treatments of weed and grass killer because they don't like to cut grass.

I admit that I grew up way back when and there was a standard treatment for Hay Fever;" get out and work in the garden and if you sneeze that's better than the spanking your gonna get for whining and complaining.  And you know it worked ! Brother and I both built a natural  defense against the pollen and had a wonderful life alive with the wonders of our good earth.

We grew up on fresh food which is another lost art as so many people prefer to open a can instead  of learning to prepare fresh food.

I really didn't mean to turn this into  to a rant but I am determined start getting this information out to everyone I know and to start  educating myself on being more earth friendly. It's going to be a hot, hot week here. Keep your fur babies cool and keep fresh water out for the birds and the bees.

Exciting Update Great American Country will be in Halifax NC

I have  the most wonderful news!  Great American Country will be filming an episode of the TV Show;  Endless  Yard Sale in Historic Halifax on Thursday June 18th. This is one of my favorite shows and I am very exciting to announce that Mystic Wood will be setting up a booth for the event.

The public is invited to attend but they do ask that everyone be respectful of the film crews and contestants during the filming. Mark the date on your calendar and join us for a day of excitement and fun right in the middle of Historic Halifax and get a preview of just a sampling of the vendors that will be opening early Friday morning for the 301 Endless Yard Sale.. I'll be posting previews of some of the treasures we will be bringing as the days pass.

Blessed Soltice

As we welcome the coming of new light let us spend time reflecting on the days and loved ones past. Remember that we are a part of what life...
